There are many dogs sold as "cockapoos" who are not really cockapoos at all. We call them "cockapoos." Then there are the really fine, true Cockapoos who, due to poor haircuts, are mistaken for other breeds of dogs or no breed at all... as in "what is it?"

The vast majority of dog groomers seem to be, at best, familiar with the hair styles of only the most common, *recognized* breeds of dogs. When it comes to Cockapoos, these groomers may nod their heads as if they know what you're talking about and then go ahead and either virtually denude your dog or give him a "Poodle" or "Bichon look"... leaving either no hair or too much hair on the face!

This page is for those who own one or more Cockapoos and want their Cockapoo(s) to look like a Cockapoo (i.e., proper hairstyle or cut). Following are some pictures of Cockapoos sporting "before" and "after" hairstyles. Whereas not all owners want their Cockapoo to have a perfect "do," with some preferring the "Benjie" kind of tousled look, it is nice to know what the typical Cockapoo hairstyle should look like.
